Reggae artiste Cherine Anderson has launched a scholarship initiative to provide assistance to the parents of grade-six students. The scholarship is being offered through her Reach One Child Foundation (R.O.C). Deadline for applications is June 30, 2013.

"We launched the scholarship programme. We are looking forward to help some primary school students to high school, helping out actually because it's a scholarship based on financial need. Each of us just teaching another person to reach another person," said Anderson.

R.O.C Jamaica Scholarship Program was established in 2013 to further assist motivated 6th grade students with verifiable financial needs across the island. The R.O.C Jamaica Scholarship program awards yearly scholarships and works to support scholastic excellence, and encourage community building among scholarship recipients.

The Scholarship seeks to provide support to motivated 6th Grade high-achievers, who show potential for academic excellence, are actively involved in supporting their school/community, and express a financial need. Preference will be given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and who excel in the performing arts.
